Roads Reopened After Early Morning Accident In Freehold Township
Police say the vicinity of Route 33 and Route 9 reopened after an early morning car accident temporarily delayed traffic.
FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ - Police said roads reopened Friday morning in the area of Route 33 and Route 9 after an earlier accident downed wires and a utility pole.
The car accident prompted commuting delays in the area, the state Department of Transportation reported.
The accident was not serious, according to Det. Lt. Joseph Winowski, a spokesperson for the department, and he said the delays involved clearing the road and making repairs to the damaged pole. No further details were available as yet.

The accident was reported as having happened at 5:42 a.m., with a crash and downed pole on Route 33 that closed roads in both directions near Route 9 in Freehold Township, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
There were no power outages in the township associated with the crash, according to JCP&L.
