Roller Derby League Hosting Clothing Drive For Needy

The drive raises funds for the league, provides clothing for thrift shops and to help the less fortunate, and empties your closet.

The Central Jersey Roller Vixens are hosting a clothing drive to help those in need, and they want your help.

The women’s roller derby league says it is seeking men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, shoes, hats, belts, ties, handbags, coats, jackets, bed linens, bath linens and stuffed animals.

They also are accepting bicycles that are in good working order.

“The clothing that is collected is distributed to local thrift shops and in areas in need of clothing,” the league said in a news release. “They DO NOT shred the clothing for rags. All clean wearable clothing and shoes are reused by less fortunate people and families.”

Donations can be brought to the Tab Ramos Center on Blair Road in Aberdeen on Sunday, Feb. 21. A collection truck will be available at 12:30 p.m., the league said.
