“My husband Rick loved Melony. He’s been there to support me, but Melony is his oldest friend and it’s been difficult for him. On that terrible night when we were trying to comfort each other he tried his tried and true method of listening to music to find solace but it just wasn’t working. He asked me if I had a song that reminded me of Melony and I just cried because just about a month ago we were talking about all that we had been through together and I said, We need our own song. A song just for us. We laughed and committed to coming up with one but it wasn’t to be and at that moment I wanted a song to comfort me. Rick searched for a few minutes and then said how about this one. He played Soulshine by the Allman Brothers and we just listened and cried and we knew that we had found it. When Melony was relaxed and at peace she shined her soul on everyone around her. She wanted everyone to be happy.”
