Man Stole Barber Equipment From Freehold Township Home, Police Say

Jay Watson is accused of also stealing electronics and cash.

A Washington Township resident is facing theft charges after allegedly taking a variety of items from a home in Freehold Township.

According to police records, 19-year-old Jay Watson allegedly took barber equipment, electronic items and just over $2,000 in cash from the residence on or about July 22. With the cash and the other items, the total value of items stolen amounted to $5,731, according to the police report.

Arrest records indicate he was taken into custody on Tuesday and remains in custody at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution as of Thursday. Watson's bail was set at $10,000. An initial appearance date has been set for Tuesday.
