Pet Resort Holds Benefit For "Cookie Crumblers" Foundation

The Green Leaf Pet Resort & Hotel is proud to announce our summer kick of party “Dog Days of Summer, Help Cookie Crumble Cancer”. This event will be held on Saturday, July 19th (rain date July 26th) from 10 am – 2 pm at the resort located at 23 Burnt Tavern Road, Millstone Township, NJ 08510.

Activities include: tours of the facility, raffles (for both humans and dogs!), face painting for the kids, entertainment, food, and more!

All proceeds from the day will go to Grace West’s Foundation “Cookies Crumblers Foundation”. On November 13th, 2013, Grace was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. Neuroblastoma is a tumor of nerve tissue and can occur in different areas of the body. It develops from the tissues that form the sympathetic nervous system (which controls body functions, such as heart rate and blood pressure, digestion and levels of certain hormones). It can spread to the lymph nodes, liver, bones and bone marrow.

For the past year, Grace has been undergoing multiple rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, stem cell harvesting, bone marrow transplant and more. Grace continues to receive weekly treatments and the finest medical care at CHOP, but the family needs support from the entire community

Shelly Leibowitz, Principal - With more than 40 years of experience to his name, and thousands of satisfied customers, Shelly Leibowitz is one of the most sought-after dog trainers in the United States. His pioneering training method of “control through kindness” is an innovative approach to dog obedience driven by positive reinforcement instead of disheartening negative corrections. In 2007 Shelly and his dog Zion placed 2nd in the country and was selected to represent the United States on the Schutzhund World Team at the sport’s premier international competition. In addition to extensive experience in dog training, Shelly is also known for his expertise in importing dogs from Europe.  Over the years, he has imported numerous dogs for a vast and growing clientele.  He specializes in German Shepherds & Belgian Malinois, but has also imported a wide variety of other breeds including Doberman Pinschers, Rottweilers, Giant Schnauzers, and Boxers.
