Traffic Stop Turned Foot Chase Lands Freehold Man In Jail

The man faces charges of heroin and marijuana distribution, police say.

A Freehold man is facing drug charges and a charge of resisting arrest after he dropped 50 folds of heroin while trying to run away from a traffic stop, Howell police said.

Paul L. Bradshaw, 37, of Freehold, was behind the wheel of a Honda Accord on Friday when he was pulled over shortly before 2 p.m. for a seatbelt violation, Howell Detective Sgt. Christian Antunez said. As Patrolmen Thomas Rizzo and Ryan Richards conducted the traffic stop on Route 9 near White Street, they could smell the odor of marijuana, Antunez said.

Bradshaw was told to get out of the car and he turned over a small quantity of marijuana to Rizzo, Antunez said. But after he did so, Bradshaw took off across the Wawa parking lot, he said, dropping 50 wax folds of heroin in the process.
