Today through tomorrow, a warm front will slowly move through the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas with periods of showers and thunderstorms. The strongest thunderstorms will be capable of wind gusts over 40 mph, hail, heavy downpours, and frequent lightning. Winds will veer from the southeast ahead of the warm front to the southwest behind the warm front at 5 to 15 mph. Temperatures today will range from the lower to mid 60's over the New York City metropolitan area and Long Island to the upper 60's to lower 70's over the Philadelphia metropolitan area and southern New Jersey. Temperatures tonight will range from the mid to upper 50's throughout the region for lows. Temperatures tomorrow will range from the mid to upper 60's over Connecticut and Long Island, upper 60's to lower 70's for the New York City metropolitan area, and mid to upper 70's for the Philadelphia metropolitan area and southern New Jersey.
The warm front will push northeast of the region for Saturday on through Tuesday leading to Summer like weather conditions. Scattered cloud cover can be expected through the period along with the threat for isolated to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms at any time. The strongest thunderstorms will reach severe levels with very heavy downpours, frequent lightning, wind gusts over 50 mph, and hail. Low temperatures will range from the upper 50's to lower 60's throughout the region. High temperatures will range from the mid to upper 70's along the immediate coast and Long Island and upper 70's to lower 80's throughout the rest of the region.

A strong cold front will produce widespread showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday. The showers and thunderstorms will produce periods of very heavy rainfall. Temperatures will return to near normal levels with lows in the upper 50's to lower 60's and highs in the upper 60's to lower 70's.
