3 Charged, Nearly $11K Seized After Shots Fired In Atlantic City: Cops

An investigation into shots fired led to three men being charged, two guns and nearly $11,000 in cash seized, Atlantic City police said.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — An investigation into shots fired in Atlantic City ended with three men being charged, and drugs, handguns and nearly $11,000 in cash being seized, according to Atlantic City police.

Brian Lee, 20, Anthony Faulkner, 30, and Marcell Ellis, 23, were charged with various drugs and weapons offenses after police responded to a ShotSpotter alert on Sept. 16, police said.

Police responded to the first block of north Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard for a report of shots fired, but could not locate a victim or evidence of gunfire, police said.

However, police were able to identify two cars that were possibly involved, which led police to find Lee, Faulkner and Ellis leaning against one of the cars in the rear parking lot of an apartment building on that block, police said.

When police arrived, the three men began to walk away, but police converged on them and detained them, police said.

Lee had on him a loaded handgun (which was later determined to be stolen), six grams of suspected cocaine and 62 grams of marijuana, police said.

Faulkner also had a loaded handgun and 78 grams of marijuana, police said.

Ellis had on him 292 grams of synthetic marijuana and 24 grams of raw marijuana, police said. Police also seized $10,879 in cash believed to be from narcotics sales from Ellis, police said.

Lee was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, certain persons not to possess weapons, possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense, possession of CDS (two counts), possession with the intent to distribute CDS (two counts) and receiving stolen property.

Faulkner was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, certain persons not to possess weapons, possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense, possession of CDS and possession with the intent to distribute CDS.

Ellis was charged with possession of CDS, possession with the intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of CDS within 500 feet of a public park and possession of CDS paraphernalia.
