6 Teens Charged In 2 Separate Atlantic City Carjackings: Police
Two of the six teens, between the ages 14 and 17, were involved in both incidents just a few weeks apart, Atlantic City police said.
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ β Six teens, ranging in age between 14 and 17, were charged in two separate Atlantic City carjackings that occurred just a few weeks apart, police said Monday.
The first incident was Nov. 29, where police responded to the beach block of south Raleigh Avenue at about 9 p.m. for reports of a carjacking.
A 68-year-old Atlantic City man had been assaulted by a group of teens who stole his car, police said. The man was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The next day, the stolen car was found by Pleasantville police, according to authorities. Two teenagers, who were reported as runaways by their family, were determined to be suspects and were taken into custody, police said. Three additional suspects were arrested as the investigation continued, police said.
On Dec. 16, two of the suspects involved in the first carjacking were arrested following a carjacking at Ocean Casino Resort, police said.

Shortly before 11 p.m., police responded to the parking garage where a 72-year-old man from Brick had been pulled from his car by three males, police said.
The three stole the car and fled, police said. The man was uninjured.
Security personnel gave police surveillance footage, and cops located the car shortly after. The driver fled, leading patrol officers on a pursuit that left Atlantic City, but it was called off when it became a risk to the public, police said.
At 12:25 a.m., the stolen car was found on the 700 block of Arctic Avenue, police said.
Officers Moustafa Maarouf and Jennifer Sanchez located three males in the area, who were identified as the suspects and taken into custody.
In the Raleigh Avenue incident, two 14-year-olds, two 15-year-olds, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old were charged with carjacking, robbery, aggravated assault and theft.
In the Ocean Casino Resort incident, a 16-year-old and the same 16-year-old and 17-year-old from the first incident were charged with carjacking, robbery and eluding.
All teens were taken to the Essex County Juvenile Detention Center.
