Absegami Emmanon Players Present 'Into the Woods' This Weekend

Shows are Friday and Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.

award-winning Emanon Players present a Tony Award winning musical this weekend.

The school's drama club will stage Into the Woods by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine tonight and Saturday, March 9 and 10, at 7 p.m., and Sunday afternoon, March 11, at 3 p.m.

Jack Keenan and Olivia Conover star as The Baker and his Wife, a couple that can't have children as the result of a Witch's curse. Melissa Mangold plays the Witch.

When the Witch tells the couple how to break the curse, they venture into the woods to break the spell and satisfy their own wishes. The play combines the story of The Baker and his Wife with the fairy tales of Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jack and the Beanstalk and Little Red Riding Hood.

The production also stars Morgan Kirner as Cinderella; Adam Bokunewicz as Prince Charming; Nick Hathaway as Jack; Laura Petro as Jack’s Mother; Malia Monk as Little Red Riding Hood; Marla Cassenti as Rapunzel; and Randy Frazier as her prince.

Erica Butterhof, Gina Marinelli, Jess Schrading, Megan Cantz, Nathan Moore, Isabella Brown, Colleen Garrison, Aaron Sartorio, Carmelo Polisano, Toria Young, Andrew Edelblum, Sean Fineran, Samantha Phommalyla, Josh Westcoat, Billy Bates, Ryann Guy, Kate Bennett and Ashton Wagner round out the cast.

Absegami Drama Teacher Chip Garrison directs, while Teacher Brian Conover directs the vocal music.

The student pit orchestra is directed by Galloway Township Middle School Teacher and Absegami Marching Braves Band Director Jim Glenn.

Peter Avagliano is the Set Designer and the Choreographer is Anthony Mauriello.
