Absegami High School Evacuated Due to "Credible Threat" to Student Safety
No one was injured during the incident Thursday afternoon.

Absegami High School was evacuated Thursday afternoon following reports of what Galloway Township Police are calling a “credible threat.”
No one was harmed in the incident.
Police responded to the school at about 1 p.m. after receiving a call from the Greater Egg Harbor Regional School District’s Superintendent’s Office about a possible threat to student safety.

Students were evacuated via early dismissal around 1:15 p.m. Faculty was evacuated from the building while K-9 Officers from The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey Police Department, Cape May County Sheriff’s Department and the New Jersey State Police assisted the Township with a check of the high school for any existing threats. The building was cleared and no one was injured.
All afternoon sports and activities have been cancelled, as well as adult evening classes, according to the school district’s website.

The incident remains under investigation by the Galloway Township Police Department and Greater Egg Harbor School Officials.
