Absegami Knocked Out of Mock Trial Competition

Absegami High School's run in the mock trial competition has ended.

The team lost to Middle Township Wednesday night in the regional round in New Brunswick.

"It has been an incredible experience," co-adviser Gina Angelozzi said. "It was still amazing to get to the competition. I think the team's diligence, talent and dedication made them successful this year."

This is the fist time the school had made it this far into the competition. Angelozzi said

“We are do proud of the team,” Angelozzi said. “They made history for being the Atlantic County winner for the first time.”

They did so by defeating Mainland Regional in the final of the local competition last week. Middle Township was the Cape May County winner, and is still alive for a chance to make it to the state competition.

The regional competition included eight local winners from the area.
