Another Award for Galloway Township School Teacher Terry Dougherty

The Roland Rogers teacher won the VFW K-5 NJ Teacher of the Year award.

The awards keep coming for Roland Rogers Elementarty School third-grade teacher Terry Dougherty.

The Galloway Township school teacher, who won the inaugural Great American Teach-Off as a result of her work with school-age children who continuously relocate because they have parents serving in the military, has been named the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) K-5 New Jersey Teacher of the Year.

She was honored at the VFW Citizenship Education Teacher Awards Luncheon in Manville over the weekend. She was representing Atlantic County District 16, Post 220. She will now represent the state at the national level, and the results of that contest are scheduled for the VFW Conference in Washington, D.C. from March 3-7.
