AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s Mainland campus is one of two hospitals in the AtlantiCare system of care. AtlantiCare’s Atlantic City campus also received a highly favorable “B” rating. Both of these high scores were received based on data from Oct. 2021 through Sept. 2022, a period that was significantly impacted by spikes in COVID, staffing challenges and fluctuating visitation restrictions.
According to the rankings, AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center performed above average in practices to prevent errors and with staff, earning some perfect scores in those categories.
There were some lower scores in the safety problems category, but none as low as the worst-performing hospitals.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program exclusively based on hospital prevention of medical errors, infections and injuries that lead to more than 500 deaths a day nationally. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually in the fall and spring.
