Boyfriend Charged In Fatal Shooting Of Atlantic County Woman
Jazmen Martin-Richardson of Pleasantville was shot by her boyfriend early Monday morning, authorities said.
PLEASANTVILLE, NJ — An Atlantic City man has been charged in the fatal shooting of a Pleasantville woman early Monday morning, authorities said.
Lamar Pitts, 36, is charged with aggravated manslaughter, unlawful possession of a weapon, certain persons not to have weapons and receiving stolen property, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary S. Shill said.

Martin-Richardson and Pitts were in a "dating relationship," Shill said.
Pitts was also charged with additional weapons offenses for a Pleasantville incident that happened a week before this shooting, Shill said.

The gun Pitts used was stolen, Shill said. It was recovered during the investigation.
Pitts is currently lodged at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
“I want to credit the Pleasantville Police Department the ACPO Major Crimes Unit for the swift identification and apprehension of the suspect in this matter. While we cannot always prevent acts of senseless violence, we take all necessary actions to identify, arrest and prosecute individuals who commit heinous crimes to the fullest extent of the law,” Shill said in a release.
