Event Details

Upper Township Community Center, 1790 NJ-50, Woodbine, NJ, 08270

South Shore Stitchers, a local quilt guild, is hosting their biennial quilt show, as well as celebrating their 41st Anniversary this year in Upper Township, Cape May County, NJ.  Dates are Friday, October 16 through Sunday, October 18.  The theme of this year’s show is “Every Quilt Tells a Story.”

The talented members of the guild will display over 200 pieces of their work that includes not just quilts, but numerous wall hangings, table runners, bags, clothing and framed fiber artwork.  Special exhibits include Embroiderer’s Guild of America, Ryan’s Case for Smiles, Quilts of Valor, The Appliqué Society, the guild’s Comfort Quilts projects, a Challenge project displayed by CaMaCo Quilters, and a Memorial Display featuring guild members who have passed since the previous quilt show in 2024.

Hourly Demonstrations will be held and are included in your Admission fee.

Other attractions include more than a dozen vendors which include quilt shops who will offer supplies for quilting and beyond, sewing machine dealers, and crafters who will sell finished goods that you won’t need to make for yourself!  There will also be food and homemade baked goods available, plus the guild’s Boutique Table and Country Store areas where you will find used books, magazines, supplies, quilts for sale, ornaments and much more.

There will also be a beautiful Raffle Quilt valued at almost $2,000 that was made by over two dozen members of the guild.  Net proceeds will be split between Ryan’s Case for Smiles and the Education Committee for the guild.  Ryan’s Case for Smiles is a national non-profit that supplies colorful handmade pillow cases to children in hospitals.  South Shore Stitchers’ Education Committee schedules numerous workshops and events, as well as monthly educational programs at the guild’s meetings.

In addition, there will be a Lucky Number Basket Auction where you may purchase tickets to “spend” on at least 18 valuable Gift Baskets, each with a different theme.  Each basket will have a minimum value of $50, and will include at least one handmade item.  Some of the themes will include: Mah Jongg, Family Game Night, Picnic, Ice Cream, Dog Lovers, Christmas, and many others. Up to $1500 of the proceeds will benefit the children of Upper Township through the Recreation Department.

Admission for those who are age 12 and up is $10 per day, or a multi-day ticket is $15.  The show will be held at the Upper Township Community Center, 1790 Route 50 in Tuckahoe, NJ (use 08270 for GPS, which will say Woodbine).  Show Hours are:  Friday & Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday 11 am to 3 pm.  For more information, visit SouthShoreStitchers.com, or email SSSQuiltShow@gmail.com
