The Choreoproject returns to Friday night, Dec. 16.
The Absegami Dance Program presents Choreoproject 9, featuring original dance compositions created by the program's students, on Friday night, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Absegami Performing Arts Center, 201 Wrangleboro Road, Galloway.
Throughout the year, the students have learned elements of dance composition and form, and have developed these elements into the creative form of dance making. The resulting dance styles that will be performed range from contemporary to lyrical and jazz. Following auditions, 12 additional solos and duets were chosen for the performance.

“The performance highlights the students’ creative development and emphasizes the importance of the dance making process," said Lisa Zeuner, the artistic director of the Absegami Dance Program. "The student-based performance demonstrates the students’ discipline, creativity, choreographic development and how it transforms into the final product, the dance art.”
“I enjoy Choreoproject because it allows us to experience the process of developing choreography and technique," Absegami senior Ariel Woodson said. "It helps us to learn to work as a team, and use our creativity to express ideas through our dance."

The dances will focus on various themes, including heroes and culture.
“Choreoproject for me is one of the highlights of the year because we all get the opportunity to create dances together and explore movement in interesting ways,” Absegami senior Morgan Kirner said.
“Through my four years at Absegami High School, Choreoproject has allowed me to develop and explore my creative and artistic abilities," Absegami senior Melissa McCann said. "It has also allowed me to discover my dream of choreographing professional works in the future.”
Tickets are available for purchase either before the show or from a dance student. Cost is $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors. All proceeds benefit the Absegami Dance Program.
The Absegami Dance Parents Booster Club will be selling flowers and concessions, and all money raised will be used to purchase supplies for the upcoming Flowmotion 2012 performance.
