Christie Coming to Atlantic City; Stopping At Irish Pub

The governor will speak in front of Resorts Thursday, and kick off the summer season

Governor Christie will travel to Atlantic City Thursday to visit the boardwalk and kick-off the summer season as Memorial Day weekend approaches, according to the governor's office.

Christie will hold a press conference in front of Resorts Casino, at the intersection of North Carolina and Boardwalk avenues, at 2 p.m. He'll then "visit with patrons" at The Irish Pub at 164 St. James Place and the Boardwalk, according to a release from his office.

Governor Christie has made the revitalization of Atlantic City "as a premier tourism destination" a top priority of his administration, the release said.

"Under the Christie administration, the Atlantic City Tourism District was established, critical industry regulatory reforms were signed into law, and the DO AC marketing campaign was launched by the Atlantic City Alliance with $20 million in industry funding, bringing an unprecedented level of commitment and cooperation to bolstering Atlantic City’s tourism and gaming economies," according to the release.
