County To Begin $3.7M Improvements To Galloway's Jimmie Leeds Rd.
The project will address left turns into business centers, enhance bus stops and improve pedestrian sidewalk connectivity.

GALLOWAY, NJ — Jimmie Leeds Road is getting a makeover. A $3.7 million improvement project will begin around Nov. 11 between the Garden State Parkway and Stockton University.
Atlantic County will improve roadway surface, address left turns into business centers, enhance bus stop drop-off and pickup safety and improve pedestrian sidewalk connectivity and stormwater collection.
“This is an extremely busy area and well-traveled roadway," County Executive Dennis Levinson said in a statement. "The overarching goal of this project is to improve the safety for motorists, pedestrians and those traveling via public transportation."

The project design required coordination with New Jersey Transit, additional right-of-way acquisition, significant survey and soil investigation and approval from the New Jersey Pinelands Commission, which issued its final approval earlier this month.
Two other county road projects are currently underway in the immediate vicinity but should not cause serious traffic issues.
