EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — Three cows and five alpacas escaped through an open gate last Friday in Egg Harbor Township. The owner and police successfully corralled the eight animals of interest and brought them home.

Police responded to the animal-escape report that morning at the 3000 block of Tremont Avenue in the Cardiff section of town. They escaped from an area of high-tension lines. The animals returned to their home on the 3000 block of Ivins Avenue without incident.

It wasn't immediately clear how far the animals trekked. But for perspective, Ivins Avenue runs parallel one block over from Tremont Avenue.
