Dead Dog, 26 More Animals Found At Galloway Home: Police
The 25 dogs and one cat were found living in "poor conditions" in a home belonging to Jason Millar, 23, Galloway police said.
GALLOWAY, NJ — A Wildwood Crest man has been charged with animal cruelty after an investigation led to the discovery of one dead dog, 25 additional dogs and one cat living in poor conditions in a Galloway home, police said.
Police went to a home on the 100 block of Zurich Avenue on Feb. 10 as a follow-up investigation regarding an animal complaint.
Police met Jason Millar, 23, who identified himself as the owner and caretaker of the animals, police said.

While investigating, police said they found a dead dog on the property. Further investigation discovered about 25 dogs and one cat who were living in poor conditions with insufficient access to food and water, police said.
Additional police, animal control and several rescues arrived to make arrangements for proper care and placements of the rescued animals, police said.

Millar was taken into custody and charged with cruelty to animals. He was released on a summons pending a future court date. Police said that additional charges are pending as the investigation is ongoing.
Police encourage anyone who witnesses or suspects abuse of animals to file a report.
"Our trained Humane Law Enforcement Officers remain dedicated to investigating all claims of animal cruelty and abuse," police said. "Together, we can be a voice for the voiceless."
