Atlantic Cape Offers Network Security Class this Summer

Atlantic Cape Community College will offer a Network Security class beginning June 27. This course is designed for network engineers and technicians who want to enter the field of Information Security or who want to learn new technologies facings IT professionals.

            The Network Security course is divided into three modules that prepare students to take the associated certification exam and provide students with hands-on experience.

             Cisco’s Certified Network Associate (185 hours), is designed to provide students with the skills necessary to design and build an internetwork using Cisco devices. Students will learn how to use popular technologies such as EIGRP, OSPF and STP.

Comptia Security + (135 hours), provides students with an overview of the security challenges facing IT professionals, such as data theft, denial of service attacks, viruses, identify management, access control, and more.

            Cisco’s CCNA Security (80 hours), helps enhance one’s CCNA-level skill and provides an introduction to the core security concepts and skills needed for the installation, troubleshooting and monitoring of network devices. The course prepares students for entry-level security career opportunities and the Cisco CCNA Security certifications.

            This course meets 5:45-9:15 p.m., Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, at the Mays Landing East Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike, in Mays Landing.
