AtlantiCare Hospice will hold a new Hospice volunteer training program Saturday, September 24 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. A bereavement volunteer training will be held Saturday, October 15 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for volunteers interested in providing support to those who have lost a loved one. Bereavement volunteers must complete the Hospice volunteer training. The training programs will be held at the AtlantiCare Hospice office in the Airport Commerce Center, 6550 Delilah Road, Building 300, Suite 210, Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey.
AtlantiCare Hospice has volunteer opportunities throughout Atlantic, Cape May and southern Ocean counties. Volunteers support the patient and family by providing patient companionship and/or assist office staff with filing, assembling patient information packets, copying, answering telephones, entering computer data and compiling monthly mailings. Volunteers also assist with annual AtlantiCare Hospice events, including its Ribbons and Roses Ceremony and Tree of Lights Remembrance Celebration.

The AtlantiCare Hospice team includes doctors, nurses, social workers, clergy, home health aids and volunteers. The team works with patients and their families to provide palliative and hospice care to those facing life-limiting illnesses. The team also provides grief support to surviving family and friends. AtlantiCare Hospice is part of AtlantiCare Health Services, part of the AtlantiCare network of services.
