This chamber concert is a pure delight, with pieces that will entrance you with their sounds. Sir William Walton and Dame Edith Sitwell concocted Façade as an entertainment for two narrators. The words are at times satirical, at times nonsensical, and are used as much for their sonic qualities as their meaning. In contrast, Beethoven is at his most pure and sincere in the lovely Septet, one of his earliest works.
