Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness Meditation is a technique for alleviating distress and enhancing well-being by observing one's own thoughts, emotions, andsensations with clarity and acceptance. This class is suitable for beginners with no prior experience, covering the basics needed for practice. It will also be useful to experienced meditators as a setting conducive to meditation as well as offering different meditation techniques to expand one's repertoire. Brief descriptions of various techniques will be given, along with guided meditation. Current research is confirming traditional reports that mindfulness benefits by reducing stress, anxiety, depression, anger and pain, while enhancing concentration, calm, empathy, sleep quality, and relationship satisfaction.

The class is always free and open to the public. Optional donations may be made, 100% of which go to local charities. No commitment to attend is needed. Bring comfortable clothes.
