This seminar is part of the monthly “First Wednesday” series presented by the Stockton Center on Successful Aging (SCOSA) in conjunction with the Stockton Division of Continuing Studies and the Health Center at Galloway.

Caregiving provided by family and friends is on the rise, as adults are living longer. In addition, advances in medical technology have led to an increase in survivors of catastrophic injuries who require continuous, 24 hour care.
Objectives for this course are as follows:
1) Differentiate between caregiver burden and burnout; 2) Identify techniques for assessing caregiver stress; 3) Increase one’s awareness of external community resources to share with caregivers; 4) Utilize the list of “Caregiver Rights” designed by the American Heart Association.
The seminar will be presented by Christine A. Gayda, Ph.D., Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology; NJ Licensed Psychologist and Clinical Neuropsychologist.
The seminars, designed for professionals, para-professionals, and other caregivers who work with older adults are free of charge and include a full breakfast. Upon completion, participants will receive 1 CE for Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Licensed Professional Counselors.
