Ex-Atlantic Co. Nurse Admits To Having 200+ Child Porn Images

At least one image showed a prepubescent child and another showed "sadistic or masochistic conduct," the U.S. Attorney's Office said.

CAMDEN, NJ — A former nurse from Egg Harbor City admitted to possessing more than 200 still images and videos of child pornography, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.

Anthony Barbarino, 37, of Egg Harbor City, pleaded guilty in Camden federal court Wednesday to one count of possession of child pornography, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger announced.

Barbarino, from April 12, 2022 to Aug. 3, 2022, "knowingly possessed" 93 still photographs and 108 videos of child sexual abuse across three electronic devices, according to court documents.

At least one of these images showed a prepubescent child or a child under 12, and at least one image "portrayed sadistic or masochistic conduct or other depictions of violence," according to court documents.

Prior to being charged on Aug. 3, 2022, Barbarino worked as a nurse, Sellinger said.

The count of possession of child pornography that involved at least one image that involved a prepubescent minor or a minor under 12 years of age carries a maximum potential penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 13, 2024.
