Five Things You Need To Know About Tuesday's Council Meeting
Highlights of the 20 resolutions passed and one ordinance introduced at the council meeting on Dec. 13.

1.Β Β Β Β Galloway Township Council introduced an ordinance that would increase sewer user fees for 2012 and 2013. According to the resolution, the increase is necessary because of an increase by the Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA) and improvements to pump stations and sewer lines in the township. A public hearing on this ordinance will take place at the council meeting on Jan. 10, 2012.
2.Β Β Β Β Council approved a resolution authorizing an Emergency Appropriation for the Group Insurance Plan for employees in the amount of $400,000. This was necessary because there was no provision for it made in the 2011 budget. It shall be fully funded as a deferred change in the 2012 budget, according to the resolution.
3.Β Β Β Β Council approved a resolution decreased the cost of the contract for the Chris Gaupp Drive Phase 4 and 5 project by $16,313.90 due to βreduction in contract quantitiesβ and because it was recommended by the Director of Public Works and the Engineer.

4.Β Β Β Β Council approved a resolution increasing the contract for the 2010 Road Overlay Program in the amount of $4,928 to Arawak Paving for additional curbing.
5.Β Β Β Β There are no more council meetings for the rest of the year. The next time Galloway Township Council will convene is Jan. 3, 2012 for its reorganization meeting.
