Fleeing Would-Be Burglar Charged Again In Absecon: Police

ABSECON, NJ — A man who once went on a naked crime spree in Absecon has been charged again after attempting to break into vehicles and condos in a complex, police said.

Michael A. Davis, 39, was seen wearing a ski mask and trying to break into a car at the Oyster Bay Condominium Complex just before 1 a.m. on Feb. 8, police said.

While police were en route to the scene, they received additional reports of the same suspect trying to break into a dwelling within the complex, police said.

Upon arrival, police found the man described by witnesses, who attempted to flee the scene on foot, police said. After a brief chase, the suspect was caught and identified as Davis, police said.

"Notably, Davis has a prior record, having been arrested in connection with a residential burglary at the Clayton Mill Run Apartment Complex in July 2022, following a foot pursuit with law enforcement officers," Absecon police said.

For the latest incident, Davis was charged with criminal attempt burglary, obstruction and related drug offenses. He now sits in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
