Galloway Employee Honored With Public Works Award
Melinda Ade has been a township employee for 25 years.

Public Works Office Manager Melinda Ade has made Steve Bonanniβs life easier for the last 20 years, the township manager said at the council meeting held Tuesday night, Dec. 13. Ade was recently recognized by the New Jersey League of Municipalities with an American Public Works Employee Award.
βWheneverΒ I ask her to do something, I never get a look like, βOh, not more work,ββ Bonanni said during a presentation during Tuesday nightβs meeting. βShe wants to work. She wants to get things done.β
Turning his attention to Ade, he said, βMy life has been easier with you working for me. You never complain and you work as hard as possible.β

Ade began working for the township in February of 1986 and has worked her way up from clerk to senior records clerk, assistant to the administrative secretary, administrative technician, senior administrative technician and up to her current position.
"I enjoy working in Galloway," Ade said. "I've worked in the same department for over 25 years, and I enjoy working with Steve and Kevin. I look forward to all the new adventures coming my way."

βEach year, the mayor gets a form and is able to nominate and employee,β said Kevin McDowell, the townshipβs Deputy Director of Operations. βI looked out in the field and in the office, and I realized Melinda has often been overlooked.β
According to the townshipβs website, Ade has also served on the Personnel Committee, Safety Committee, and Secretary for the Road Committee, Secretary for the Infrastructure Committee and has served as the Treasurer of Public Works Association/Region No. 7 of New Jersey since 2003.
