Galloway Officers Skip Razors To Help Animals

The police department raised money to help the county animal shelter, just in time for an influx of animals into the shelter.

GALLOWAY, NJ — The Galloway Township Police Department put its razors away for the month of January, for a good cause.

The officers, who finished their final month of not shaving their beards for the season, were participating in "Januhairy," which raised money for the Atlantic County Animal Shelter.

Collectively the officers raised $1,000 for the shelter, which was extremely grateful for the donation as they are currently seeing an influx of cold-weather animal seizures, the police department said.

"The Galloway Police Department and the Atlantic County Animal Shelter have a great working relationship when it comes to any Humane (HLEO) complaints, we are happy to be able to assist them with this donation," the department said.
