Galloway Township Reorganization Meeting Tonight
Decisions about mayor and deputy mayor, as well as the swearing in of three councilmen take place tonight.

holds its reorganization meeting tonight, Jan. 3, 2012, 6:30 p.m. at the municipal complex, where the council will choose a permanent mayor and deputy mayor.
Don Purdy has been the interim township mayor since
Tony Coppola has served as interim deputy mayor since Nov. 14.

According to the agenda on the townshipβs website, the mayor will also deliver his State of the Township address. Coppola and Democratic Councilman Jim Gorman will officially be sworn in following their to council last month, and new councilman Brian Tyrrell will be sworn in for the first time. He has been serving as interim councilman since Nov. 14.
Tonight's meeting will also see various legal contracts awarded, the schedule of council meetings for the year is set and committees are appointed.

Purdy has already appointed his first two committees, including one designed to attract to the township. That committee consists of Coppola, Tyrrell and Gorman, as well as resident Jim Cox.
A committee consisting of Tyrrell, Gorman, Councilwoman Whitney Ullman and resident Linda McDevitt was appointed to look into grants.
