Galloway Woman Killed in Early Morning Accident
Sushma Patel was killed early Wednesday morning. One of two cars involved left the scene.

Galloway, NJ -- A 51-year-old woman is dead after she was hit by two cars at the intersection of the White Horse Pike and Poplar Avenue early Wednesday morning, Galloway Police said. Police are searching for one car that left the scene of the accident.
Sushma P. Patel, 51, of Galloway, was hit by a 2009 Ford Tauras X while she was crossing the highway around 6:50 a.m. That car was driven by Maria Rose, 52, of Absecon, and was traveling west.
Another car, traveling east, also hit Patel, but didn’t remain on the scene. That car is described as a white SUV with possible lower front end damage.

Patel was pronounced deceased on scene.
The road was closed for about two and a half hours while police investigated and cleared the scene.
