Kudos to Council for Appropriate Attire

Resident Richard Price applauds some members of council and the township manager for wearing professional attire.

To The Editor:

I would like to commend council on theirΒ appearanceΒ during the last council meeting. It was a breath of fresh air to seeΒ three of the members and the manager wearing a tie, white shirt and jacket. The others just came from a ball game.

It's time for our governing body to achieve the respect the job of councilman entails. Everyone deserves the highest degree of professionalism. It would be very nice to see everyone in a blazer with the municipal crest on the pocket. If that doesn't work, try a sweater vest or just a white shirt and tie.

It's not a matter of putting on robes like the Supreme Court; it's a matter of dignity you'reΒ carryingΒ for the office you hold. It is a real shame that more people don't attend the council meetings. I believe there are patriots out there; it's just a matter of a little nudge.

Once a month, I receive an email from the municipal building stating the taxesΒ  or the sewage bill is about due to be paid. The city has in its command thousands of addresses, and a signal to send a message that there was a council meeting that night would be appropriate. This little idea could remind people that Galloway council welcomes them and what they have to say. Β Β Β
