Man Breaks Into Assumption Regional, Steals Folder: Police
Police said they charged the Egg Harbor City man with burglary, theft and criminal mischief.

A man broke into Assumption Regional Catholic School in Galloway, activated the burglar alarm and stole a classroom folder, police said. Galloway Township Police Department said they found John E. Thomas outside his vehicle Saturday night in front of the school.
Video surveillance showed Thomas, 62, of Egg Harbor City, entering the school and activating the alarm at approximately 11:24 p.m., GTPD said. Lt. The folder contained random paperwork, Lt. Christopher McGinty told The Press of Atlantic City. Thomas has a history of mental illness and run-ins with police, and the break-in appeared to be random, McGinty told The Press.
Police charged Thomas with burglary, theft and criminal mischief, GTPD said. His charges were placed on a summons, and he was released pending a future court date, according to GTPD.
