Man Charged With Attempted Murder In South Jersey Shooting: Police
Marlon Chiles II shot a man multiple times in Pleasantville and then left the area in a Lexus, authorities said.
PLEASANTVILLE, NJ β An Atlantic City man was charged with attempted murder in a daytime shooting in Pleasantville over the weekend, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.
Pleasantville police were dispatched by a ShotSpotter alert to West Park Avenue around 11:30 a.m. on May 18, authorities said.
At the scene they found Pleasantville resident Andrew Miller, 31, suffering from "multiple gunshot wounds," officials said. Miller was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Division for treatment.

The suspect left the scene in a Lexus, authorities said. That Lexus was then stopped on the Atlantic City Expressway by New Jersey State Police.
The driver was identified as Marlon Chiles II, 26, of Atlantic City, according to authorities.

Chiles was charged with first-degree attempted murder, second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun, second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, and third-degree possession with the intent to distribute marijuana after a large amount was found in the Lexus.
He now sits in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing.
The shooting is currently under investigation by several agencies.
