Mother Of Boy Shot At Pleasantville Football Game Feels Hopeful

PLEASANTVILLE, NJ — Angela Tennant's 10-year-old son was shot Friday at a Pleasantville football game. Despite the obstacles, she remains optimistic.

Her son, Micah, remains in critical condition at Cooper Hospital in Camden, according to authorities. He was one of three people shot Friday night at a high school football game, officials said.

A GoFundMe for Micah's treatment has raised over $12,000 from 388 donors as of Monday morning. The fundraiser, which has a $20,000 goal, was set up on Tennant's behalf.

Micah, also known as "Dew," has a vibrant smile. He also has a big personality, according to his mother. Tennant has posted videos of Dew dancing and flexing.

"Dews personality is too big for him to not come out on top!" Tennant wrote. "It’s just a matter of time."

A 15-year-old boy also suffered a graze wound and was treated at the hospital and released, the ACPO said. A 27-year-old man is in stable condition and will undergo surgery, the ACPO said Friday.

Despite the incident, Tennant remains positive and faithful.

"We ain’t using the word hope when it come to Dew ya’ll!" she wrote Sunday. "We are believers THERE IS NOTHING TOO BIG OR TOO SMALL FOR GOD! Tell me where y’all faith is! God said you only need faith as big as a mustard seed I GOT BIG FAITH."

A community walk for victims of the shooting will take place at noon Saturday at Pleasantville's Woodland Avenue Playground.
