New Book Store Opens in Atlantic County

A book store has opened where Borders once stood in Mays Landing near the Hamilton Mall.

Bam! opened Friday morning, Dec. 9 and it has all the same features Borders had prior to its closing earlier this fall. The store has the same layout and the bookshelves, CD racks and DVD aisles are full.

The store offers a Millionaires Club Card, which offers many of the same perks the Borders Rewards card offered at a cost of $20 a year, according to store associates.

One major difference is that Bam!, which is open 24 hours a day online at booksamillion.com, sells the Nook and e-reader accessories. They also sell Nintendo Wii, DSI, and accessories for those systems.

Bam! will also have a café, that will open shortly before Christmas Day, according to store associates.

According to the Books-a-Million website, this is the fourth location opened in New Jersey, with others in Vineland, Cherry Hill and Paramus. There are also locations in other states, including Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, West Virginia, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida and the District of Columbia, among others.
