Stolen Vehicles Found After Car Burglary Investigation In Galloway: Police

The department urged residents to lock vehicle doors and keep valuables out of sight after the investigation.

GALLOWAY, NJ — Galloway Township police said a June 21 investigation into a stolen vehicle and a series of related vehicle burglaries led to one arrest, the recovery of three stolen vehicles and the identification of a second suspect whose charges are pending.

According to the Galloway Township Police Department, officers responded to reports of a vehicle stolen from the South Fairview Avenue area. Police said the vehicle was later found abandoned near Colonial Court after information came in from a resident.

The department said patrol officers, detectives, dispatch personnel and a K-9 unit assisted in the investigation. Police established a perimeter and collected evidence, including surveillance footage and other intelligence that the department said led investigators to identify multiple suspects.

One suspect was arrested and charged, according to the police department. A second suspect has been identified and charges are pending, according to the department. The investigation also resulted in the recovery of three stolen vehicles, including two from Galloway Township and one from Margate City.

Police said the suspects were linked to multiple vehicle burglaries throughout the township. The department described the outcome as the result of coordinated work by officers, detectives, dispatchers and assisting agencies during the investigation.

The police department said the investigation led to the apprehension of a suspect, the recovery of stolen property and the rapid advancement and closure of the case. No additional details about the suspects or the specific charges were included in the department's statement.

The department also used the announcement to remind residents to lock their vehicle doors and avoid leaving valuables inside. According to the statement, police said that is the easiest way to deter vehicle burglaries and thefts and help keep vehicles and personal property safe.
