New Veterans Health Care Clinic To Open In Atlantic County

The Northfield clinic is moving to a Linwood spot that's more than 22,000 square feet and more accessible for South Jersey veterans.

ATLANTIC COUNTY, NJ — The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is planning to expand health care services in Atlantic County, Rep. Jeff Van Drew announced Monday.

The current Community Based Outpatient Clinic based in Northfield will be relocating two miles away to Linwood, Van Drew said in a release.

This new clinic will double in size to more than 22,000 square feet, which will enable a much-needed expansion of critical services to South Jersey veterans, Van Drew said.

"For the last four years, I have been actively involved in ensuring that this expansion of veteran health care services would come to fruition, and have fought relentlessly every step of the way," Van Drew said. "We have thousands of Veterans in South Jersey, and they deserve the highest quality of care, and now, our Veterans will have access to three state of the art clinics between Cape May, Cumberland, and Atlantic Counties. This is a huge announcement, and I am proud of the work we have accomplished to ensure our Veterans have the care they deserve."

In the past five years, there has been a more than 12 percent increase in veterans treated in South Jersey, Interim Director at Wilmington VAMC Jeffrey Beiler said.

"This expanded clinic will not only allow us to increase the services already offered at our current location, but also makes space for the addition of new services such as x-ray, CT scan, and physical therapy," Beiler said.
