Egg Harbor City Man Killed in Fiery Crash on Atlantic City Expressway

An Egg Harbor City man has died after his car crashed into a toll plaza on the Atlantic City Expressway Friday morning, The Press of Atlantic City reports.

Joseph Crawford, 39, was the only person in the car when it crashed into the Egg Harbor Toll Plaza around 10:30 a.m., according to the report.

The accident took place in the westbound lanes at the Egg Harbor Toll Plaza, State Police said.

According to police, both the car and the toll plaza caught fire. Police said the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to NBC10, all traffic is being diverted through the E-ZPass express lanes.

There was only one person in the car, according to The Press of Atlantic City. 

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
