Pair of College Students From Galloway Recognized

Matt LaTorre and Colleen Delaney stand out among students at their respective schools.

Two Galloway Township natives received special recognition from their respective colleges recently.

First, Matt LaTorre, a student of Fairleigh Dickinson University's International School of Hospitality and Tourism Management program, was honored the FDU's International School of Hospitality and Tourism Scholarship during the annual/student benefit dinner on March 4, 2012 at the Park Avenue Club, Florham Park, according to a release issued by the college.

Additionally, Lebanon Valley College announced that Smithville’s Colleen Delaney, a senior Spanish and biochemistry and molecular biology major, was selected to present as part of Inquiry 2012 at the school in Annville, Pa. Inquiry 2012 coincides with the Council for Undergraduate Research's week-long celebration of student research and achievement.

Lebanon Valley celebrates the academic, dramatic, athletic, musical, and experiential achievements of the student body. Events begin on Sunday, April 15, and conclude Saturday, April 21.

Inquiry 2012 will include poster presentations, art displays, poetry readings, oral research presentations, and musical recitals. Every academic department on campus has nominated students to share their accomplishments during that week.

Delaney is a part of the History and Political Science Department and Department of Languages, presenting "Is Freedom in the Eye of the Beholder".
