Receipt of Audit, Presentation to CFO Highlight Tonight's Council Meeting

The audit proved favorable for Galloway Township.

The Galloway Township Council will acknowledge receipt of the 2010 audit, according to the agenda for tonight’s meeting, 6:30 p.m. at the municipal complex.

This year’s audit proved to be good news for the township, which saw just one recommendation, pertaining to the township’s fixed asset accounting system.

The recommendation was that the township utilize an approved disposal and transfer form, tag all its fixed asset equipment and take steps to ensure the categorical and complete accuracy of all items detailed in their fixed asset accounting system, to correct minor problems in the township’s fixed asset accounting system.

The audit found that the township didn’t exceed the bid threshold in its bids for multiple construction projects last year, followed the appropriate resolutions on the collection of delinquent taxes and tax title liens, and municipal funds from the collection of delinquent taxes were deposited within the mandated 48 hours of collection time.

The full audit is available by request from the township clerk’s office.
