Requested Change to Interchange 41, AED Presentation on Tap for Tonight's Council Meeting

A discussion of the Skate Park is tentatively scheduled to take place.

Galloway Township Council will consider a resolution to ask the New Jersey Turnpike Authority to reconsider changes to off the Garden State Parkway when it convenes tonight, June 26, 6:30 p.m. at the municipal complex.

As part of the ongoing widening project on the Garden State Parkway, a new State Police Barracks will be constructed at exit 41. Part of the project calls for township residents to lose access to the Atlantic City service area off Jimmie Leeds Road at the conclusion of the project.

Residents will not lose access to the Parkway at this exit. Residents are unhappy about this change, and township officials have worked with state officials to change the Turnpike Authority's decision, to no avail. The subject will once again be discussed at tonight's meeting.

Also at tonight's meeting, is set to present five automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to the council, for use by the police department. are seeking 10 new to replace existing ones that have outlasted their use.

The agenda posted on the township's website and Facebook page list a discussion of rules as "tentative." At the last meeting, council decided to reopen the skate park after it had been closed for two weeks, on the condition the rules of the park be followed.
