Resident Stone Officially Signs With New York Label

The local band is now a part of Goldheart Records.

Resident Stone, a Galloway-based band, has found a home with their new label Goldheart Records.

As of today, the local band has dotted all the i’s and crossed all the t’s with the New York City label, and will now be working with Goldheart’s CEO and main producer, Vince McCartney, to get started on taking the band to the next level.

“My plan is to get their album out there, get [music] videos going, and schedule tour dates,” said McCartney. “I am going to be doing everything I can and should be doing as a company to get them out there in the world as best as I can.”

The band’s manager, Ava Holly Lewis, founder of 4 A Star Management Company, will also continue to work hard to take the band wherever it wants to go.

“My hopes are high for them,” said Lewis. “They have great potential and a great sound. We are all extremely excited.”

Resident Stone is a five-person rock band made up of lead singer Rob Dief, lead guitarist Rick Land, drummer Andrew Clark, rhythm guitarist Rebel Somers and bass player Sam Ross. Land has described the band as a “perfect nucleus.”

“We all contribute to creating a very unique sound,” said Land.

This unique sound is exactly what caught McCartney’s attention when he first heard the band play.

“Their style of playing and what they’re all about reminds me of rock and roll from back in the 80s, like Van Halen,” said McCartney. “There is a good market for them today. Rock and roll is a very original genre of music and over the years, people have forgotten about that. Everyone sounds like someone else because they’re afraid to take risks. Originality is what’s missing in the rock scene, and this band is totally original.

“I have never heard of opening acts being called back out for encores during shows. There were bands who were the main acts that didn’t want to follow them by the time they were done playing. What Resident Stone is doing is working for them and I plan to keep that creativity intact one hundred percent.”

In addition to originality, the band’s business sense also has a lot to do with its continued success.

“They are a good unit and they take their craft and their business seriously,” said McCartney. “They are a very hardworking bunch of young people who want to make a difference and I respect them.”

Lewis echoes this sentiment and agrees that the band is wholly hardworking.

“They are willing to do what it takes to succeed and they are aligning themselves with the right people,” she said. “That’s what makes success.”

The decision to make the contract official also arrives on the same day as lead singer Dief’s birthday.

Lewis believes this is a positive sign for things to come their way in the future.
