Residents Displaced By House Fire In Galloway: Police
The fire on Cheshire Drive broke out Monday morning.

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ — Residents were displaced and a firefighter was injured during a fire at a Galloway Township home Monday morning, according to police. The residents were not home at the time of the fire, which was reported at about 11:21 a.m. on Oct. 1, Galloway Township Police said Monday evening.
The Bayview, Oceanville, Absecon and Pomona Fire Companies were immediately dispatched along with the Galloway Police and Galloway EMS to the home on Cheshire Drive. Responding firefighters under the command of Oceanville Fire Chief John Mooney brought the fire under control at 11:49 a.m., according to police.
The residence was rendered uninhabitable and the occupants obtained temporary housing from the Red Cross. A firefighter was injured on scene, received medical attention and was subsequently released from the hospital.

The fire is under investigation by Investigator Dennis Spier and Scott Feldman of the Galloway Township Fire Department and D/Sgt. Kevin Welsh of the Galloway Township Police Department Fire Investigation Unit.
