The deadline to submit a bid was 4 p.m. Tuesday. Straub told the newspaper he didn’t know how many bidders there were, and there was no way to be sure the bids were in on time.

Straub previously stated that he could reopen the building within weeks if he submits the winning bid.

He also said that while part of the building could be used for a casino, he would like to create an elite university in the former casino’s tower, according to philly.com.
