Salary Increases, Goals Approved at Galloway Board of Education Meeting
The Superintendent will receive a 1 percent increase, while the Business Administrator receives a 2 percent increase.

The Galloway Township Board of Education approved a resolution confirming that Superintendent of Schools Annettee Giaquinto met her performance goals, earning a bonus of $778, which represented .50 percent of her 2011-12 salary, and was not added to her base salary.
The Board also approved a 1 percent increase in salary for Giaquinto from the 2011-12 school year, bringing her salary up to $157,095 for the 2012-13 school year at its meeting Monday night, June 25 at the
Giaquintoβs goals for the previous school year, previously approved by the Board and the Executive County Superintendent of Schools, included:

* Developing a safe, healthy environment for students and staff;
* Enhancing instructional practice and student achievement in accordance with New Jeresy Β Common Core, No Child Left Behind, and research and experience in best practice;

* Upgrade infrastructure and equipment to operate efficiently and effectively; and
* Enhance parent/guardian, municipal and community relations.
The Board then approved the 2012-13 goals for Giaquinto as follows:
- Increase student achievement as measured by the New Jersey Department of Education;
- Continue to enhance community relations, including senior citizen involvement;
- Further refine the budget development process; and
- Investigate other options and make recommendations for transportation services, beginning with the 2013-14 school year.
The final goal coincides with two goals set before the Board of Edcuation Monday night, which are to work with the Greater Egg Harbor Regional School District Transportation Consortium to improve transportation services for the 2012-13 school year, and to investigate student transportation options for future school years.
In , the Board discussed options for leaving the consortium after the possibility of a hike of just over $20,000 in fees for the school district was raised. Another took place after two district school buses were involved in accidents in one week, one which saw go to the hospital with minor injuries and the other involving and a teacher from the same school.
No conclusion was reached in either discussion, and the options will be discussed further in the coming year.
The Board of Educationβs other goals include:
- To continue to work with the Municipality of Galloway to enhance communication and identify shared services; and
- To conduct two Board of Education Institutes during the 2012-13 school year.
The Board of Education also approved the salary for Business Administrator Tim Kelley at $109,650 for the 2012-13 school year. That represents a 2 percent increase from the 2011-12 school year for Kelley, who became Business Administrator this year following the retirement of Vickie Tomasco.
Board Solicitor William S. Cappuccio was approved for a $25,000 salary with an hourly rate of $120 an hour for additional work.
