Senior Center Set For Mid-May Opening, Township Manager Says
The parking lot will be paved on Monday, and staff will begin moving in toward the end of the week.

Galloway Township Manager Arch Liston expects the on Route 30 to open in May.
βThe floor is complete,β Liston said during the council meeting Tuesday night, April 24 at the municipal complex.
He expects a lot of work to be done next week.

βThe parking lot will be paved on (Monday) April 30, and weβll be able to start moving people in on (Thursday or Friday) May 3 or 4,β Liston said. βWe should be open by the middle of next moth.β
Liston said the people that would be moving in at the end of next week are three township staff employees. He also said the expected the would be opened the week of May 21.

The senior center is located at the VFW building on Rt. 30, and was constructed in 1969. Β The township has been discussing putting a senior center in that building for five years. It purchased the building in 2010 for $750,000.
Recently, there was a about if the center could also be used for community events, but Liston reiterated on Thursday, April 26 that the center would only be used for senior services.
