It felt like a weekend festivsal in Smithville.
The inaugural Taste of Galloway event in Historic Smithville began at 5 p.m. and by 5:30, all 300 wrist bands had already been sold. Mary Crawford, President of the event sponsor Galloway Township Business Association, retrieved 200 more wrist bands, and by 6 p.m., they were all gone.
After that, additional bands went on sale for half the price, and the Galloway Township Business Association ended up clearing $4,000 total, to be donated to the Hope Chest at Beacon Church.

"We were expecting 150-200 people," Crawford said. "It's warm and it's a Thursday night, and it's great to see all the people who came out. And they're all local people.
"We'll do another one next year, with some expansion."
